Dessert Foods

If you're like most people, you have more than one favorite dessert food. With so many different dessert foods available, it's easy to understand why. Thankfully, your sweet tooth has moods.

Dessert Foods in a Restaurant
When you're in a restaurant, it never fails that they try to push dessert foods at you. Just like with drinks, most restaurants make a lot of profit on dessert foods. Sometimes they have tantalizing pictures of their dessert foods on table tents to tempt you. Other times, they bring a tray to your table that has the actual dessert foods they offer. You might get a whiff of something that you thought you didn't want, but you end up getting it after all. And there's always something different.

Someone at your table might ask you if you want to split a dessert. While he or she may be in the mood for a slice of Death by Chocolate, you might be craving key lime pie! Or guilt might stop you from splitting the Death by Chocolate--after all, even half of it is probably about a million calories, right?

Sometimes sugar-free versions of popular desserts are good, believe it or not. Tippins Pie Pantry is based in the Kansas City, MO area has an excellent French Silk Pie that's out of this world, but they also have a "No Sugar Added" version that's just as tasty.

Making Dessert Foods
If you like to cook and bake, dessert foods are the most fun thing to make. Everyone loves dessert, and you can do some really impressive things and be creative. You can make beautiful and tasty trifles, beautifully decorated cakes, pretty pies and more. You can even make a colorful fruit pizza to encourage your kids to eat all their fruit. It's a tasty way to do it, too!
