Chocolate chip cookies for every event
First of all, you can get very creative with your chocolate chip cookies by just changing an ingredient or two. Almost anything, within reason, can be the chip's substitute. Or you can go all out and splurge on some truly fine, gourmet chips that take your ordinary chocolate chip cookies to a whole new level. Check out a baking shop in your area, or one of the many that are online for some ideas. there are all different kinds of chips that you can add. Some of them have a hint of flavor with the chocolate, such as raspberry or liquor. Make a more sophisticated version of the cookies then you were used to. Add a tray of gourmet chocolate chip cookies to the food table at your next party or bring some along to the party that you have been invited to.

If there are little ones in the house, make some holiday theme cookies that fit right in with the season. Most grocery stores will carry holiday designed candies for baking so instead of chips, you can have little x-mas trees or Chanukiahs. There are many different kinds of candies that are made just for baking, they will not melt or lose their shape with baking.

You can even go farther with your creativity and get the kids involved. Make the cookies into different shapes and decorate them however you want with the various ingredients you have gotten. If it's close to Halloween, try to make scary faces and shapes that will give every cookie a personal touch.
