	<title>Candy</title>
	<description>
Over the course of two generations PEZ candy has become a part of American pop culture. Many of us remember how sought after the candy dispensers were when we were kids. Even thought the candies were really quite small and not many usually came in a roll, we were always excited to get a new dispenser or a large pack of the candy refills. PEZ remains a totally unique candy and many adults have kept up with their fascination of the product by collecting all of the various dispensers that the company has designed over the years. You can still check out all of the dispensers from the past, but because they are constantly coming up with new designs, many of the older ones get discontinued shortly after coming out - if you really like one, snatch it up before they're all gone.

A short history of PEZ candy
PEZ candy actually had its start in Vienna, Austria over 70 years ago. When it first came out it was marketed as a tiny compressed mint. Its name comes from the German word for peppermint which is Pfefferminz, and so the name reflects both the flavor of the candy as well as its condensed nature, thus PEZ. The product was not introduced to the States until 20 years later when it became an instant hit. Now, more then 3 billion Pez candies are eaten up every year in the USA alone!

They are still constantly creating new dispensers to keep up with new trends and tastes and people continue to collect all of these great little toys/candy dispensers. Now, of course, they are made right here in the States at their plant in Orange, Conneticut but are available in more than 60 countries throughout the world. Funny how such a simple idea and their fun designs appeal to people across the globe.

Even a PEZ museum!
There is even a museum dedicated to all things PEZ. It is located in the San Francisco Bay area and is called the Burlingame Museum of PEZ Memorabilia. They recently added on to the museum to feature other great classic toys from our childhoods. The museum also customizes PEZ products for the general public. You can have your face on the top of a dispenser, actually it is a kind of frame where you can insert a picture, but it is still pretty neat and a great gift for the avid PEZ collector. They will also customize the candy packages for you with a personal message!
